OTTAWA, February 4. There are conflicting statements respecting the supposed origin of the fire. Several members of Parliament and also policemen assert that they heard explosions .while others declare that it was merely a pile of papers in the readin-*--rooni which ignited and caused the fire.° An investigation has been ordered.
