Benzine Storage.—The Town "Clerk drew attention to the -fact- that benzine was- • stored within the bounds of the borough in quantities forbidden by the by-laws. The by-laws- provided for the payment of a license of £1 for the storage of 200 gallons of benzine and other dangerous goods. - It was decided' after some" discussion to appoint Mr. T. J. Watts, captain of the Fire' Brigade, inspector of dangerous goods, and - empowered him'to. enforce the taking.out of. licenses.. ,-■ . - . . . Water Supply.—lt was reported that dh-rlhg the month of January the consumption of -water In Newmarket amounted to 7.959,000 gallons, supplied at the cost of £397 19/. It exceeded the amount used inJanuary, 1915, by no less than 604,000 - gallons.
