THE TtOAD -TX) TURKEY,,,, The -connection established in November between the Anstro-German army and the Bulgarians is the subject of a leading article in the "Frankfurter Zeitung," which recorded that « Hungarian steamer had arrived at Vidin, a port in Bulgaria. The fact assumes for the "Frankfurter Zeitung" symbolical proportions; it is, a proclamation of economic relations with Bulgaria, long wished for and 'lasting. ipoßcy of starving out Germany has suffered an-, other serious defeat, for a street has been opened into Germany, which present conditions can only magnify in importance. According to the "Frankfurter Zeitung" though, there was no pressing need to open up this street from the economical point of view. According to this paper, Germany could have held out indefinitely an food and Turkey in munitions; though the supply of the latter will be augmented and improved appreciably now. Still this • new Met will, it is fervently hoped, help to reduce the cost of provisions. "The way is open to Bulgaria, Turkey, and Asia Minor, and thus Germany will be able to obtain not only necessaries of ?ife but also many other useful articles. She hopes to profit by Bulgaria's rich harvest and wealth in cattle; also to obtain eggs and butter in great quantities. From Turkey will come, besides foodstuffs, tobacco and olive oil, and certain metals. So that the opening of the Danube should make itself felt by a great falling off in the price of meat and the welcome appearance in. Germany of fat foods." - This is not all, however. Besides Bulgaria and Turkey there is Rumania. The "Frankfurter Zeitung" argues that the Rumanian peasant! needs money, and must be afraid of his harvest it as not sold in time. So two rich harvests stand at the disposal of Germany —those of Bulgaria and Rumania,
