CLIFFORD SETTLEMENT BALLOT. In connection with the ballot for the Clifford Settlement, near Tirau, consist-" ing of eight sections, varying in size from 31 to 312 acres, applications. for which close on Monday next at 4 p.m., the Land Board is receiving applications from discharged soldiers or from duly authorised agents of men now serving in the Expeditionary Forced, and these will, provided they arc otherwise eligible, be admitted to ballot equally with other preference applicants, the latter being married persons with families dependent o,n them, or unsuccessful competitors in not less than two previous ballots. Applications from single men eligible for military service, will not be entertained.
