DEATH BY CHLOROFORM. An inquest into the circumstances of the death of Majgaret Moran, a single woman, aged 29 years, was held at the morgue this morning by Mr F. V. Frazer, SAL The evidence showed that deceased, who was employed by Dr Usher, Jcrvois Road, had not been in good health prior to her death, and at 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning she was missing from lier employment. About 8.30 the same morning she was foundlying face-downwards near some steps leading to the beach at Herne Bay. and at the top of the steps was found a pound bottle of chloroform, half of which bad been need. She was subsequently removed to the hospital, where she died at midnight. A postmortem exaiWnation showed that death was due to chloroform poisoning. In the washhonse of Mrs Baldwin'B, Church Street, where -deceased lived, the following note, written by deceased, was found: "My dear Mt*heT,-I am very gon-y to cause you this trouble, out 1 feel mv Hie has been a failure. There is no one to blame for this but myself, and I hope God will forgive mc and all ■ the people here. By the time yon get this I wfll ** n ° 1 1101 -' 6O &** " i^e * dear • mother.
