ROLL OF HONOUR.
SAPPER K. W. WATSON. Sapper Kenneth Walter Watson, who hae received recognition of hie "conepicuout bravery on the night of August 6-7, 1915," by being awarded the D.C.M., left with the Main Body of the Expeditionary Force as a member of the Field Troop of New Zealand Engineere. In a lengthy casualty liet issued by the Defence authorities in the middle of August he was reported to have been wounded in the left leg in t>he big advance of August 8-10. The official account states that Sapper Wateon received hie medal tor assisting to demolish wire entanglements under very severe fire. Although wounded himself, he refused help and went out to rescue an officer who wae wounded and whom he safely assisted to cover. He is a son of M.r and M« William Wateon, of Russell Street, Arch Hill, and wae a member of St. Peter's Bible Claee. PRIVATE FRANK MAJHONEY. Private Frank Mahoney. Wellington Infantry, who hae been awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal "for conspicuous gallantry and resource during operations on OaJlipoli Penineula," is well known in Auckland. He first unlisted in Auckland, hut, being deferred for a minor ailment, applied at a southern defence office, and was accepted as fit. He left with the Fifth Reinforcements. Hie nearest relative is a sister, Mrs E. Kelly, of Robert Street, Ellerelie. Private Mahoney was engaged prior to his enlistment ac a contractor under the Public Works Department at Ohakune.
