Mr. Fisher, who was SG yeaiis of age, arrived in the fifties by the ship Matilda Wattenbaeh and after living for some time at ' Port Albert, came to Auckland, where he enlisted for service in the Maori' War He afterwards went' into business as' a member of the firm of Fisher and Co butchers, Queen Street, and earned sonic distinction as the • first Auckland exporter of frozen meat. About ",5 yea j. s ago he sold out, and took a'farm at To Awamutu, but came to Jive at Epsom in 1910. Mrs. Fisher died some sixteen months ago. Mr. Fisher was well known ' as a judge of sheep and cattle at nan-1 cultural shows in years gone by. He J leaves a family of three sons and two 1 daughters and eleven grandchildren.
