EIGHT MORE DEATHS. SIX IN CHRISTMAS DAY ACTION. Casualty List No. 261, issued by the Defence Department last night, and' forwarded by the Press Association, contained the names of five of the New Zealand Riile Brigade killed in action in the I hristmaa Day engagement at Mutrah, and of another who subsequently died of wounds received in the same action. SERGT. STANLEY FRANCIS WEIR, Rifle Brigade—Gavin Weir, Upper Orewa, Silverdale, Auckland (father). THOMAB FLINT YORK., Rifle Brigade— I Mrs. M. W. York, Ngahere, Waimate (wife). DIED OF WOUNDS. ARTHUR HAY, Rifle Brigade, gunshot, buttock, at 21st General Hospital, Alexandria—Arthur Sendall, Conference Street, Christauureh. DIED OF DISEASE. JOHN GUTHRIE BRASS KIRKNESS, Canterbury M.R., cholemia, December 10. at 13th casualty clearing station— W. R. B. Kirkness, Orkney, Scotland (father). ERNEST OLIVER STEWART, Wellington 8., pneumonia, December 27, at 16th Stationary Hospital—George Wm. Stewart, Tamaki, Dannevirke. TWO KOBE DEATHS. FOTJR OTHERS WOUNDED. Casualty list No. 262 was issued to-day, and extracts forwarded! by Press Association indicate that two more deaths have been recorded, while four men are i reported to have been wounded. A Wei- i lington soldier is reported to have died i on the hospital ship Maheno on December j S—a striking comment on the leisurely; nature of our "soldiers' records" service in view of the fact that the Maheno herself arrived in Auckland a week ago to-day. Died of Wounds. W. A. DAVIDSON (Wellington Battalion), died of gunshot wounds (arm and leg) and dysentery on December 8 I at N.Z. General Hospital, Cairo. Died of Disease. J. H. CAMERON (Field Ambulance), died at sea on hospital ship Maheno on December 8 from pneumococcal meningitis. I Reported Wounded. A. E. ROBINSON (Wellington Mounted Rifles), wounded slightly. L. G.
