CHILDREN'S MISSION.
The New Zealand Children's Mission Was inaugurated <m September 1, 1915, and durlug the four montue terminating lieeember, the mlsaloner (the Key. E. PaJgtave ttivy, <tt Takupunn) has undertaken three separate tours—tlrat in the TJuuues and Waihi dhitrk-ts, then In Wellington, Fellding and Wunganui, concluding with Napier and Hastings* In the Uawke'it Way district. The three tours actually covered 82 days, during which W addressee wefe glveu—Bo being to children, 10 at adult semces, and tour lectures on India. 'jmms total approximate attendance was 14,441—children 12,206 and acjulta 2,235; average for each service 14(1. Thirty-one of the addresses were given In State schools in the children's own time—either before lessons, during lunch recess, or after school, the scholars In all cases attending voluntarily. • . .
At many meetings the boys outnumbered the girls, lads between 13 and 15 years being numerous. 'file nriseloner in each town gave a series of talks on '"»he Pilgrim's Progress," making it a 20th century story for the boys and gifts of to-day, and representing the ipllsrkus as lads Instead of men. , In all eases Mr Davy found the headmasters and committees ioi schools very courteous and obliging. A beach campaign for the young folk of Auckland commenced last week, sandservices being held at the various seaside resorts. These services will continue till the end of January.
