HOSPITAL SUPERINTENDENCY.
DR. GRANT'S DEPASTURE. The appointment of another actingmedical superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, to succeed Dr. A. M. Grant, who is leaving for the front, was discussed by the Hospital Board at a special meeting last night. After a toport from a special committee had been considered, it was decided to ask Dr. Grant to reconsider his decision to leave. The chairman (Mr. M. J. Coyle) pointed lout that Dr. Grant had obtained his commission in the New Zealand Medical Corps, and was now entirely in the hands of the military authorities. Tt was thereupon decided that a deputation, consisting of the chairman and Messrs. W. Wallace and Hall Skelton I should wait on H-on. G. W. Russell (Minister for Public Health) and Dr. T. H. A. Valintine (Inspector-Gen-iral of Hospitals) with a request that SurgeonGeneral Henderson should be asked to facilitate the retention of Dr. Grant; In his present position. Jt was also resolved to hold anothoT meeting to-night to consider the position.
