RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
CADET SERIOUSLY INJURED. (Br Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday." A serious accident occurred at Lambton etation railway yard this aftcrnn n, a cadet named Gilbert Parkinson being knocked down and run over by an engine. Parkinson, who is in his sixteenth year, seems to have been crossing the yard where shunting operations were in progress. He sustained severe injuries to both legs. Medical attendance was secured promptly, and the lad removed to the hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate the left leg from the thigh and the right foot. To-night Parkinson's condition was reported to bo low. He is a eon of Mr. H. A. Parkinson, a well-known city schoolmaster.
