ECLIPSES FOR THE YEAR 1916.
In the year 191 C there will be five eclipses; three of the sun and two of the moon. 1. A partial eclipse of the moon, January 20, 101H, visible in New Zealand. 2. A total eclipse of the sun, February 4, 191b*, riot^vilibirirrNew-Zealaild. 3. A. partial eclipse of the. moon, July 15, 1916, partly visible in New" Zealand. 4. An annular'ecttpse of the sun. Visible as a partial eclipse in New Zealand, July 30, 1016. 5. A partial eclipse of the sun, December .25, 1916, invisible in New Zealand.
This forenoon the Bixkenhead troop o' Boy Scouts (under Scoutmaster Mickle) and the Nortbeote troops (under Scoutmasters S. W. Davidson ahd~D. Mitchell) went into camp for a fortnight in Clow's paddock,-.adjoining Kauri" Gully Scenic "Reserve, Northeote. Mr" Horace Ktebbing, chief scoutmaster, was aleo present, and addressed the lade.
