STATEMENT AFTER THE CHRISTMAS RECESS.
(Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, December 27. A special meeting of Cabinet was he'd to-day (Monday), Earl Kitchener attending, to consider Lord Derby"s recruiting report. It is understood that Mr. Asquith will make his statement in the House of Commons on the result of the campaign possibly after the Christmas recess.
