ECONOMIC MOBILISATION.

COUNTERACT GERMAN BELIEF. LONDON, December 27. The "Daily Chronicle , ' says that the motion to be moved on January 4 by Mr W. A. S. Bcwins, Unionist member for Hereford, in favour of an Imperial Conference to consider the question of the fiscal protection of the Empire, is of first class importance, and should command the support of all parties, regardless of fiscal opinions. The "Chronicle" adds: "We must get rid of the notion that France. Russia, Britain, Australia. New Zealand, and other combatants arc separate economic entities. The need for mobilising the economic resources of the Empire and the Allies is more urgent because Germany by her conquests has at last succeeded in mitigating the rigour of the naval blockade."
