He could not secure i trucks, and: feed was not to be found, so he took out a fresh travelling permit to . continue on the roads to CondoboliiL , Another owner left his Queensland run \ with 6000 sheep, and by the time Coon- [ amble was reached the best count was . not more than 4000. North of Coonamble and right into Queensland., the conditions arc said to be very bad, and , stock owners are making for southern . parts as rapidly as possible. Some own- , ers have secured agistment country at Orange and in the neighbourhood of i Geurie and Wellington, but others are [ going still further afield,, .while three or | . four mobs of sheep are destined for Yici toria. , At the meeting of the Harbour Board yesterday afternoon the chairman' (Mr i H. D. Heather) reported that ihe had j arranged, subject to the Board's - approval, to allow tile Takapuna Tramj ways and Perry Co. t9ie use of the outer i eastern and -western berths of the ferry a jetty, the Devonport Ferry Co. to have . the use of the two inner berths on either s side, as at present. It would be neoes--7 sary to Taise t-be-level of the outer west- . em iberth and to provide a tilting stage, s and also to make certain alterations to i, the dividing fence" and ticket office. Xhel c total cost was estimated at £150. The" agreed to the proposals. i
