BOARD AND COMMITTEE.

TROUBLE AT WAIHI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. Matters in connection with the resignation of the Waihi Schools Committee in a body "on account of the actions of the Board of Education" have not been made public as far as can be ascertained. However; the resignations followed a certain appointment in connection with the Technical School here, together with the removal of a teacher from one of the schools. It is alleged that tho interests of the children arc not being studied, and thai the transference of the latter teacher, made shortly oefore the examinations, prejudicially affected the chances of a large number of scholars from obtaining free places, etc. A great deal of dissatisfaction is apparent in regard to the action of the Board generally, and it is quite unlikely that any person will be found willing to act in place of tbe members of the Committee.
