STABBED WITH A BAYONET.
FATAL END TO QUABBEL. f "THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY." ■-. (Received 10.35 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. An elderly woman named Mrs Johnston was fatally stabbed with a bayqnpt. Her brother. William Quinlan, after a- 1 '; desperate struggle, disarmed the mur-.i . derer, who escaped. Subsequently a man named Jonns•'■ ' McNamara, who was separated from his wife as the result of frequent quarrel 3 ,: was arrested on a charge of murderin*' ' Mra Johnston. It appears that McXamara eallei at -„ ■ the house where his wife lived with her 1 uncle, Quinlan. ilrs Johnston opened the door and in reply to McNamaraY Wm request to see his wife said: "If you have anything to say, 6ay It to mc. If you "'•'"' make trouble we will send for "the police." McXamara thereupon stabbed her, caying: "That is all I have to cay." Quin- ;. Lan was not seriously injured.
