ISLAND VESSEL MISSING.

The steamer Germania, of Burns, Philp and Co.'s lino, returned to Sydney last week from the Gilbert Group, with news that one of the Island trading vessels iß'os missing. In tho Gilberts news waa Vcceivod that Mr. It Corrie, one of the oldest traders in the Oilbert Group, was serSpusly overdue in his vessel. Ho loft his \homo, ilah_na, in an open cutter with'vhia wife, two children and soveral natives, on May 23, bound for Tarawa, an island 30 miles away. Sinco then nothing has been heard or scon of tne cnttcr or its occupants. It is presumed that the, cutter drifted out to sea, as tho current round-this vicinity is particularly strong.
