IN REPLY TO BULGARIA.

RUSSIA'S FLANK ATTACKS. IMPORTANT SUCCESSES CAINED. ENEMY DRIVEN FROM LUTZK. ACTIVITY OF ALLIED AIRMEN. Greece has responded to Bulgaria's mobilisation by calling up her own reserves, a general mobilisation having been ordered. Russians are reproaching their brother Slavs of Bulgaria for preparing to fight her liberator. The Ruaians report two successes against the enemy. The greater of these was achieved in the Volhynian fortress triangle,(the Austro-German forces being defeated on the Styr and Ikwa, and routed with the loss of thousands. They have abandoned Lutzk. On the northern wing, in the Jacobstadt region, the Czar's forces have made a breach in the line held by yon Buelow, compelling him to retreat with the loss of 1,500 prisoners and many machine, guns. The enemy attempted two attacks on the Allied line in the Vosges, but both failed. In these they used gases designed to affect the eyes of the Allied trench-holders, but in spite of this they were unable to drive back the Frenchmen. It is reported that the Turks are preparing for another expedition against Egypt in the middle of November, and are gathering an army at Beersheba for the purpose. The Allied guns are now hammering the Anafarta heights, and it is hoped to take these without the necessity for a general infantry assault. Allied airmen have been busy during the last few days, and have dropped, bombs on many points of military importance in the German lines, including Bruges and Stuttgart. At Bruges the docks and a factory were destroyed.
