For the tecond time this session the House of Representatives this af-ernoon spent a couple of hours in claims for a lost horse and saddle, the properly of a Waikato settler, who loaned them to special constables. The Puiitie- Petitions Committee recommended the petitions to the Government's favourable notice, but its report was referred bark by the House. The petitions' came up again to-day with a favourable recommendation. »o lons a* an inquiry is made into the equity ol each claim. Mr. lsitt opened ihe discussion, which lasted all the afternoon.
