He ' is an Imperial officer, and has seen service in India. Egypt, and South Africa. Superintendent John Ellison, of Wellington, retires on superannuation at the end of this month. Ma-. Ellison is wclJ known in Auckland, where ihe was 1 stationed for .many years as chief crerk ; in the police office. Long before that time, however, ihe was a consita.ble sta- i tioned at Thamies.
