MISSING WAIPU SETTLER.

ELEVEN" DAYS IN THE BISH. After eleven day* in the bush. Frazer Campbell was, on Tuesday Inst, restored to his relatives. Since last Friday week search parties have set out dnily from I Waipu to find the miming man. His t rucks wpro follow pit over somo of the roughest country and densest bush in the district, to a point about 12 miles from Waipu, on the property of Mr. Douglas Moiling. Here the track* were lost beside a creek, where ft crossing had been made by mean* of a fallen sapling. On Tuesday morning the Waipu search party received information thnt Frazer Campbell had called nt the house of Mr. Davidson, of Maungaturoto. and offered to buy food. He was detained until identilled by the police and removed to Mnunjfaturoto, where he received mcdi cal attention, afterwards being driven ' to the home of Mr. l>. Mclx-od in Waipu. It appears that the mind of the missinß man had been affected by recent illness, and he had wandered aimlessly about in the bush until compelled by J hunger and sickness to call at Mr. David- . eon's house. During the whole of the , eleven days Campbell bad bad no food I but nikau pith and taraire berries, and f had slept in the open without overcoat ,or other covering. He wns in a much ► better condition when found than might j have been expected after such a rough , experience. The weather had been wet end windy, and very cold at night. His I mental state has already improved, and > no evil results or permanent injury are , anticipated. The patience and persist- , ence of the search parties, the number of senrchers who volunteered for what proved arduous work, and the feeling of relief generally expressed nt Campbell s being found alive, speak well for the t neighbourly helpfulness of the settlement
