He derres that he is a German subject, and states that h.- has tnken an "ath of allegiance to (Jueen Victoria. Edward VII.. and George V. He would dn so again if permitted, but. in view of the fac-t that irresistible pressure is threatened against the College Council by the highest authority in the country, he feel* it due to the Council that he p!ac-e himself in their hands.
