An hour after leaving Tilbury the vessel whs ordered to shelter at Margate owing to (ierman mines in the ( hnnnel. She remained at Margate for the night, and on proceeding in the morning saw » dark object ahead. The pntrol boats fired on the object, which proved to l>e a mine, and exploded it. The passengers were greatly relieved when the eliip cleared the Channel.
