IAREWELLING A TROOPER.

A pleasjint fathering was held on Mon<lny. the 16th inst.. In the Foresters' Hall, Kdinhurph Street. Newton, in honour of ■•-r. A. K. Stanton. of the New Zealand Railway Department, prior to his departure for active service. The eveniDp was spent in dancing, interspersed with musical items. The music was supplied by the Misses Heresford. The supper tables were tastefully decorated with red. white and blue by Mesdames Heron am] Macfaxlane. Ar supper the customary tnnsts were proposed nnd responds to by various quests. Mr. P M rieron officiated as master of cei-o-inoniev Altocetber. a very enjoyable evenins was spent.
