TASMANIAN MEAT FAMINE.
STOCK AT RECORD PRICES. (Received 1). 10 a.m.) HOBART, this .lay. Tasmania usually imports cattle in tbe winter, and this year, owing to the heavy exports to Victoria, a meat famine prevails. At recent sales steers touched £3S 10/, bullocks £31 2/6, heifers £l:i 5/, wethers ~>\/, ewes Xil, and lambs 23/0, the highest figures recorded for years.
