LOCAL COMPETITION'S. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) : WAIHI, this day. j The result of last night's heat in the eentimental recitation in connection with Hayward's competitions was as j follows:—Mks Lucy Kllis, 21; Miss ! ; Madge Bridge, "20. T'.:e competitors in I I tin , semi-final are:— Mioses X. liowe, I ! Bessie Banks, Lucy Eilis. and Madse ! Bridge. A dance organised by the Waihi South Patriotic Ladies' Committee, in aid ol the Hospital Sliip and Wounded Soldiers' Funds, was held in the Foresters' Hali last night. There wae a very good attendance, and a most enjoyable evening j I was spent. i
