MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.
A special meeting of the Mnnukau Conn'v Council was hold thu morning in order to discuss the balance sheet ami statement of accounts far the past year, and other matters thai had arisen since the last 1 ordinary ineetlnß. Giibert'son Hnanee.—After discussing the balance sheet .it some lenjrth It was deckled thai the clerk he Instructed to prepare n de- ■ tailed report of the revenue and expenses of the council. On the motion of the chairman, if was decided to adjourn the meetnic until the auditor could he present to explain the Council's position Great South Road.-A petition bearing the signatures of certain owners of property abutting on the Great South Road Mnmircwn, between the station road nnii the pu1.11.; hall was ro.-elv.Ml. Mr. Herries statin- with regard to the Council's request that the control of the 51araetal wharf he rested In the Manulcau County Council, that he was having the matter attended to. and that in due course the cJerk would be communicated with on the subject.
