MINE MAXAGERS' REPORTS. New Sylvia.—At the north No. 5 level. No. H rice is up 100 ft. Tlie reef is as wide as the rlee, and fairly well mineralised being payable-. A hole has been bore<l from No. 4 level far about 13ft, the object being to secure ventilation. TJie reef looks well in this Ihnle. In No. ." level south, No. 2 rise Is up 45ft. The reef Is about oft wide, anil carries n little quluer.il. The lode appears as if 'it will open out.' No. 4 rise Is up «7ft. The reef here Is wider than the rise, and no Willis are showing. The ore is well mineralised, and gold Is seen fairly freely In the ore broken. Only one'stope has-been.in'progress between No. 2 nud No. 4 rlftes. The reef is slightly smaller in the southern end. Golden Belt.—.The compressor house Is just about finished, and a start will lip made to put up the machinery curl connect ttic pipes. At No. 1 level enmr timbers require to be renewed before «lr pipes am be put In. The ore chute tit the battery lins been finished nnd n-quuirtlty of quartz at the terminal of the tram is now being crushed.
Wnlotahl.—Cleaning up at the battery Is still being .proceeded with. Trlbuterg In the upper levels of the mine have uot yet met. wli.h anything of value.
