Curing the passage from Aden to Colombo the Orient liner Orsovo picked up a crew of three men in an open boat flying the Russian Ensign. The men proved to be the chief officer and two of the crew of the Russian steamer Baron Driesen, of 4,036 tens, which is ashore near Cape Guardafui, at the entrance to the Gulf of Aden. The boat was seeking assistance, and sighted several ships prior to seeing the Orsova. but all made oIT at top speed, thinking that it was a German trick. The Orsova visited the stranded ship, and found, that she was in no immediate danger, and the crew were safe.
