BACK FROM SAMOA.
ARRIVALS BY THE ATUA.
Tile paßecngers iby the island steamer Atua. wihadh arrived last evening, included Captain J. G. Roache, of the oth (Wellington) Regiment, two nurses, and ii;ine non-commissioned officers and men 'of the Samoa garrison. The nurses (Matron Brooke and Sister Willis), who ■have been at Samoa since the occupation, are joining the hospital ship Mahemo. Captain Roache, who is recovering from typhoid, and Privates E. Foley, W. J. Barker, J. Daviddon, H. J. Roberts,' and E. D. Eleock have been invalided' 'home. The remauider-i-Staff-Sercrcant Hale, Q.M.S. Dyer (X.Z.M.C.), FieldCashiex D. Moroncy, and Private Whitford—have been transferred .to duty at Wellington. The new garrison, which is composed of men over 40 years of age, appears to have settled down to Tte work, and nothing has .oecirrred lately to break the even tenor of life under iColonel Logan's administration.
