COMPLAINT AGAINST THE FREEZING WORKS. Ti;nUBLE AT WESTFIELD. At this afternoon's meeting of the Auckland Harbour Hoard, a letter w:ia received from the District Health Officer stating that the pollitiion of the Manukau Hnrbmin-ausod by the drainage from the Farmers' freezing Works. Mee*n>. K. an.l \V. Hellaby. Ltd., and to a lesser extent from tile city abattoirs, was still taking place. The report of the Board in committee recommended that Messrs. Hellaby, Ltd. he notified that a* they had taken no action to appreciably abate the created on the shores hv the discharge of waste products from their works, the Hoard would, unices the same he abated before .tune nil next, take le-al proceeding* to overcome tho nuisance; and further, thai the Farmers - Freezing I Company and the City Corporation abat° . toir- he again requested to forthwith extend tlieir discharge pipeg to the main channel. j At the name meeting a further -letter on the subject was read from tin- Mount ■ Wellington Road Hoard, which stated that BoriiiiiH onmpaints had been received, and ieupge«ted that the Harbour Hoard should co-operatv with the local bodies to on-1 force remedial measures. i
