FIRE AT MOUNT ALBERT .
Th° Mount Albert Fire Brigade received n c.ill shortly after midni;:ht last nijht to a house at the corner of Kdendale Road and foyle Street. Mount Albert. The members of the brigade ■were- quickly on the scene, but hy the ' time they arrived the flames, assisted by Dip fair wind blowing, had g.iined such a hold that little could be done. The house, containine five rooms, was pitted, and the content* destroyed. 1 The occupant.- wen- Mr. White and family, an.! it is understood that they were the same day removing to a new house: in Mount HoiikiU, but shifting opera-, tionn had to lie postponed owinp to the | wet weather. Mr Matthews was the owner of the property. It is believed that both the house and the content? were in?ured. but the amounts of in- ■ mranre «re not yet available. The I origin of the tire i.- unknown.
