GERMAN GUNS OUTMATCHED ON THE AISNE.
VIOLENT ATTACK AT LA BASSEE REPULSED. i (Received 1.30 p.m.) . LONDON, February 2. An official message states that the French Government reports successful artillery actions along the whole of the Aisne front. A violent attack north of the La Bassee and Bethune Road was repulsed, the enemy leaving numerous dead.
