X.Z. ATHLETIC UNION. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The annual conference of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union commenced this morning. Mr. J. Kennedy (president) In his address said he regretted that the Auckland Centre had decided to secede. He felt sure sport would decline in Auckland If the matter remained unsettled. . The report and balance sheet showed affairs to be In a satisfactory condition. Receipts for the year totals £836 6/9, and expenditure £288 19/6. THE CTLiMPIONSHIP MEETING. (Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this.day. The Dunedln Amateur Athletic Association agrees with the view of the Auckland Association, that in the absence of so many champions at the front, it would be unwise to hold Dominion amateur championships this year. Representations to that effect are to be made to the governing body.
