ASIATICS IN THE STATES.
EXCLUSION OF HINDUS. THE JAJANESE PROBLEM. (Received 1.45 p.m.) WASHINGTON". July 10. The House of Representative's Committee on Immigration considered legislation affecting the aelmiission of Hindus. Representative Burnett appealed tc the committee not to raise the Japanese exclusion question at the present time. He urged for the exclusion of Hindus alone, as Chinese were already kept out. Representative Church supported this and said that his own bill was designed as a compromise, and was intended tt meet the Western opposition to the influx of Asiatics.
