NEW EDUCATION DISTRICT.
NORTH ATJC__AICD AND WAIKATO. PROPOSED BOUNDARIES.

WELLINGTON, Thursday As outlined by the Minister of Edu en tic in discussing the Educ-ttion Amendment Bill to-night, some rndict-I changes are proposed in tihe constitution of education districts. Although the total number of education districts in the Dominion have been considerably reduced, tho Auckland Education district, which is at present by far the largest territorial district in New Zealand, has oeen divide! into two. the names proposed for thes' two new education areas being the North Auckland and the Waikato Education districts. The schedule of the bill, dealing with the alteration of the existing boundaries, proposes the following territories for the respective new districts. Education district of North Auckland. all that area of New Zealand being ihe counties of Maugonui, Whangaroa, Hokianga, Bay of Lslands, Hobson. Whangarei, Otatuatoa, Rodney. Waitemata. Eden. Manukau. Franklin, Coromandcl and Great Barrier Island (including all borough and town districts therein, ateo including Waiheke and Little Barrier Island.) Chief town Auckland.
Education district of Waikato, all that area in New Zealand being tbe counties of Thames. Ohinemuri, Waikato, Raglan, Piako. Waipa, Matamata, Tauranga. Kawhia. Waitomo, Awakino. WestTaup 0 East Taupo. Rotorua, Whakatane. Opotiki. and Ohura (including all boroughs and town districts therein.) Chief town Hamilton.
