j CLAIM FOR £3,000 DAMAGES. • j -ALLEGED MISREPRESENTATION. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. I Ra.msay MoDouga-11. of Waikato, is suing .1. W. Chapman, of Waikato, in the Supreme Court, for _.000 damages for alleged misrepresentation in regard to a block of 1830 acres of swamp land between Hamilton and Morrinsville sold by defendant to plaintiff for £10,065. ! Mr. Wilford. in openinjr the case, said the land in lhc block contained 05 per cent, .if water. Plaintiff was induced to 'buy hy a statement that the land only [needed ploughing to produce astonishing | crops, whereas, counsel alleged, it was j absolutely worthless, and was part of 10. nil acres which were given away. ! The claim is for recovery of money | which McUougall had actually spent in trying to farm the land. The hearing jis before the Chief Justice and a special jury of twelve.
