GIRLS FRIENDLY SOCIETY.
MORE MONEY NEEDED. Tho Advisory Board of the Girls' friendly Society met, yesterday afteriioon to discuss the schem-e for providing _e m buildings. Tlie meeting wa-s held - the Diocesan Office. Bishop Averill presiding. It was stated that the sum available for the h'lild'ing scheme is only £3,100, wh—'e-as t,, erect a three-storey structure at the corner of Wcllcsley and Rutland Streets will involve thy expenditure nf fully £8.000. Mr. A. G. Daw. architect, had been consulted by the Hoard as to the providing modified plans for a building to cost £11000. Mr. Daw replied that tliis could not be don?, but suggested a building of two storeys. After discussing ways and fjl'-ans the general feeling of the Board *96 that another campaign should be instituted to raise the extra money required to put up the three-storey building.
The meeting then adjourned till Monday afternoon, wh-en the committee will submit a report on the met—od to be adopted to finance the scheme.
