Davey, now passed away, mutt have touched not a few citizens of Auckland, who have either dined there or passed by itx one-time inconspicuous portals. It may not be ■rraprailv known that the only brother of this famous .h.-f loft Auckland for London two months ago, after a virit ol rather over twelve inontlw' duration. Whilst, in this city he presided over the culinary destinies of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, in I'arnell. and i venture to suggest that those who knew him there will he r>!ea--ed to associate l,i m with one whose kitchen Lore the murk of genius.— 1 am, etc - A. \V.
