The High Commissioner's market report, dated London, March 21st. is as follows: — Quotations, unless otherwise specified. are average market price's- on spot. Mutton.—The market is weaker, though prices are not actually lower. North Island, 4Jd per lb. The demand has been chiefly for light weight, which sold as high as 4 7-Sd per lb; heavy weights. 4 1-Sd. Lamb.—The market is weaker and has a tendency! downward on account of large supplies coming forward. The weather lately has been unfavourahle to the sale of lamb. There has been but little demand Tor Canterbury, as buyers prefer North Island at the lower, prices. Canterbury two's, per lb, 6 3-Sd; heavy weights. 0 1-Sd; other than Canterbury, Bid for light weight. Beef—The market is very dull. Supplies of American chilled beef are large. New Zealand hindquarters per lb. 4*d; fores, 3 7-Sd. Chilled hinds, 4 7-8 d: fores, 3Jd. Butter.—The market is dull and prices are Irregular. New Zealand butter storks have accumulated lately, and holders are disposed to meet buyers at lower prices, as present supplies exceed requirements. Danish. In fair demand, per ewt, 122/ to 121/: New Zealand, slow of sale, 109/ to 112,': unsalted. 11<V to lIS/; Australian, market quiet. lOC/ to 110'; Argentine, market dull. 104/ to log/; Siberian, market steady. 108/ to 1.0,'. Cheese.—The niarke is steady, with fair business. The Canadian supply is running short and holders are firm. There is fair demand for .New Zealand .cheese and the market is steadier. Canadian white, per ewt. 68/ to 70/; coloured. 70/ to 71/. New Zealand finest white. 171/ to 02,'fi; exceptionally fine. 03/: tine, fit/ to Xl/9; finest coloured; *'■!'_ to SB/: fine. «_/ to 03,0. Australian white. (52/ to 62/6; coloured, 63/ to fir,.. Hemp.—The market Is quiet but steady. New Zealand, good, fair, per ton, £25 10/; fair, £22 10/: April to June shipments, good, fair. £25 13/; fair, £23. Manila, fair enrrent. £23 10/. The o utpnt from fair current, £36/10/. The output from Manila for tbe week was 18,000 bales. Peas.—The market is firmer. Stock moderate. Cocksfoot seed is In better demand. Hops.—The market is steady, with demand. —
