I A man named George Have Jock Green, , who was arrested at Auckland about \ three weeks ago on a charge of disobey- , ing an order for the maintenance of his wife and children and brought to ' Dunedin. went down to Sawyers Bay this afternoon, where his wife is engaged as a housekeeper by Mr. Perry, 'la currier. Green called at the house 1 about 330 p.m., and apparently fired ; two or three shots at his ( wife, all of ' which took effect about the neck or shrvulders. Green then walked to&T J ort Chalmers, where he was arrested. Mrs. Green was attended by Dr. Borrie, - of Port Chalmers, but from" what little - can he c/athered at present it does not appear that the wounds are serious. DUNEDIN. this day. Green was formally charged at Port ' Chalmers this morning with attempted 'wife murder, and was remanded to i appear in Dunedin on Monday next.
