MRS. PANKHURST'S ARREST.
. ACCUSATIONS OF VIOLENCE. BRUISES ON HER LIMBS. (Received S.o-5 a.m.)' (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) LONDON, March 22. Two doctors certify that they examined Mrs- Pankhurst six days after her arrest, and found numerous bruises on her ribs and limbs. Both ankles were ' cut. one being swollen and discoloured. The injuries were probably caused on the floor of the cab by the feet of si_ policemen occupying the cab. FORCIBLE FEEDING. DITTIES OF THE GAOL DOCTORS. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) (Received 8.55 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. The Medical Legal Society has decided not to accept Dr. Mcrcier's proposal that doctors should not be considered responsible for the death of prisoners re- . fusing substantial meals offered. A barrister declared that it was an obligation upon gaolers to see that a prisoner was properly fed. When a hunger : striker became helpless, a doctor refusing \to apply the resources of science to prej serve life would be chargeable with murder.
