FLOWERS ON THEIR FACES.
RUSSIAN WOMEN'S FASHION. (Times-Sydney Sun Special Cable.) PARIS, January 12. Fashionable Russian women arc now painting flowers on their faces. The rage was started by Miss Nathelie Goutcharoff, the most celebrated woman painter in Russia. Princesses and other titled women may be seen in St. Petersburg and Moscow not only with flowers, but also with horses and elephants painted on their cheeks, foreheads, and necks in ultramarine. Miss Goutcharoff asserts that the paintings soften the lines of the face. Now that pearls are so dear, women are having imitations painted on their necks. The effect is striking.
