Harris was charged on remand, in the Magistrate's Court to-day with at- ' Sempted theft from the person (two charges) at Whangarei race meeting. He 1 pleaded 'Not guilty,'' reserved his defence, and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court at Auckland. A man named Edward Murp by, aged 51, recently an inmate of Whangarei Hospital, was fonnd dead in the swimming bath at Kamo Springs- this morning. Dr. Good, who examined the body, thinks death -was due to apoplexy.
