Our photograph shows Judge's Bay on a holiday occasion. This bay is undoubtedly the most attractive on the eastern side of the city, within reasonable distance of town. .A suggestion has been made that the beautiful grounds sloping to the bay, the property of the late Mrs Street, should be acquired as a park for this portion of the city, and the site was visited late this week by the Mayor and Councillors. Adjoining and bounding the western side of the. bay is the flue property of the late Sir John Logan Campbell, and if a portion of this were included with the area immediately facing the bay, the whole would constitute one. of the most attractive recreation reserves in the city. Should the question of the acquisition of Mrs Street's property come before the ratepayers and be favourably received, it is probable that arrangements will bo possible to carry out the larger scheme. It is likely that the Harbour Board, in connection with its harbour - — - • improvements, will acquire.the Campbell property.
