NORTHERN WAIROA.

Messrs Bassett and Slade. of Northern "Wairoa Dairy Co., and McMurdo and Milne, Kalpara Co., waited on the Otamatea County Council on Monday to protest agulust the proposal to charge wharfage on cream and other local produce. Tbe Council resolved. "That Hobson County Council be asked to take 'over tbe Dairy Company's wharf at Manga wha re. and make a refund to

shareholders of cost of construction, and In the event, of this taking place, the Council will reciprocate with the Hobson Council and allow all goods free between Ihc respective wharves." Consideration of wharfage was deferred for one month, but so far as Hobson Connty wharves are concerned, the Council is prilling to let all j goods pass free.

The Marsden-Kaipara Hospital Board met at Kopuru Hospital on Tuesday, Mr Kernaban presiding. Tbe chairman and Mr Mackenzie were authorised to sign an agreement with Mrs McMillan for free training at St. Helens.
