SYDNEY. December 19. Tlie High Court has granted Thomas E. Brown, orchard keeper, St. Ives, a new trial in connection with the shooting of Police-Sergeant Hickey last July, the chief grounds for this action being that the judge in the trial of the case was in error iv telling the jury that they were not likely to find any other verdict than guilty or not guilty.
