LATE RACING.

« OTAHU.HU TS.OTTDTG CLUB'S SPRING MEETING. CONCLUDING DAK. The concluding day's racing in connection with the Otahulm Trotting Club's Spring Meeting took place at Alexandra Park this afternoon. The weather was splendid, ' and the attendance largo. TUB OPENING EVENT. In the opening event all the acceptors went to the post, and Grattan Abbey was backed down to a very short price. Lord lloth*cuiid was a good second favourite, and a little money went-on Alberroria, Watkino, and Bronze Bell. The favourite did not begin well, but with 'half die journey covered took charge, and trotting evenly throughout won nicely by a couple of lengths from Waikino, which, broke badly when holding a good winning chance. A AIIX-UP. Lieutenant. St. Ursula, and Linotype jumped out of the Epsom Handicap, leaving a field of eleven. When the machine closed Lady Zetland was a warm favourite, with Maud 11. next in request, while there was plenty of money for Casket. The race was spoilt by a mix-up at the start, the favourite behaving very badly, and refusing to settle down, while Presently, Wapiti, and Maud H. took no part in the race. Special Huon, which was bracketed on the machine wirh Eoeie Gray, got to the front early, and won easily, -with Casket and St. Abbs in the places. Graham, the rider of Hand H.. was fined £2 for leaving before his bell. Results:— INNOVATION HANDICAP (HARNESS), of 45sovs. One mile and a-haif. Albertoria 15s, Ayrshire Lad 15s, Miss Huon Jun. 15s, Mil-ado 16s. • • Igho had charge when they reached the hack, having an advantage of half a dozen lengths from Grattan Abbey, the pair being well clear of the rest of the field, which was headed by Lord Rothschild. Passing the stand Grattan Abbey had wrested the. lead from Igho, and showed the way out of the straight six lengths clear of the latter, then ten lengths away came Lord Rothschild, which was followed by Bronze Bell and Waikino. Going along the back Waikino looked like catching the leaders, but broke bodly, and Grattan Abbey showed the way into the home stretch, followed by Igho. Lord Rothschild, and Waikino. In the run to the post Igbo broke badly, and Wnikiuo putting in another nin got withia two lengths of Grattan Abbey, with Lord Rothschild four lengths away, third. Casket was Quickest to begin, but passing the stand bpecial Huon went to the front, and from lhat out the race was only a procession Special Huon eventually winning by four lengths from Casket, which was six lengths in front o£ St. Abbs. Lady Park was just in front of Lady Wilmington the pair 'being tea lengths clear of KLrikiriroa winch was breaking badly; then came Clave, Haldane, and Albertorious Pa-=s-ing .the stand the second time. Lady Wilmington had reversed places with Lady Park, having a length advantage, and then six lengths away came Clive, Haldane and Albertorious, while Kirjkiiiroa pulled up. Lady Wilmington maintained her advantage as they trotted along the back, and led into the straight two lengths clear of Lady Park. while Clive (which had made up his ground gradually was within striking distance. In the run to the judge Lady Wilmington successfully stalled off challenges by Lady Park and Clive, the latter of which broke badly at a critical stage, and won by a length and a half from Lady Park, which, was two lengths and a half in front of Clive. Albertorious was fourth. Haldane pulling up. Time, 4.56. Kirikiriroa was favourite.
