Wrlgley was employed as a farmhand by Nichols, and It Is believed he was infatuated with Mrs. Nichols, who was one of the prettiest younj; women, in tho district. Near the young woman's body in the woods stood a bay horse owned by Nichols, The horse was hitched to a hay mjira, It was one theory of the authorities thai the wife was carried In the wagon Into the woods and there slain. Mrs. Nichols was found to have been shot to death Her hasbnml wns slain by repeated, hammer blows on the skull.
